Expensive for British tourist to fall sick in Malta Print E-mail
European hotspots Malta and Cyprus have emerged as expensive destinations for the British tourist who require medical attention abroad with claims averaging £1,261 and £1,135 respectively.

Meanwhile Mexico, USA and Barbados have topped the list as the most expensive countries to fall sick in when on holiday and without travel insurance.

According to the study by Age Concern Insurance Services, Mexico has the highest average claim which reaches £3,028.
In second place with medical claims hitting £2,854 was the USA and in the third place was the Caribbean beauty Barbados.
The least expensive travel claims can be found in Egypt with travel claims costing on average £160, £176 in Yugoslavia and £185 in Norway.
