The Hotel Bernard is also situated close to a ‘blue flag’ clean sandy beach, albeit a small one, and very close by you will come across a multi-screen cinema, bowling alley, world class fitness centre, fabulous shopping centre and boutiques, and of course more restaurants bars and clubs!

If you have come to Malta to enjoy yourself, then this is it – you can enjoy yourself in 4-star luxury and eat some of the best food in the island.  However, the Bernard is not only a hotel for the young, but for anybody who wants a good time on their holiday and also for families and groups. The apartments offer a kitchenette with sink and cooking facilities, so that self-catering is an option to dining in the complex or elsewhere in St. Julian’s.  This is particularly useful to families with a need to keep the price of meals down.  The standard apartment have twin beds, and the family apartments offer four twin beds, suitable for a family with two children, or two couples sharing a room.  The rooms are the same but without the self-catering facility.

Apart from all the amenities offered within the complex as a whole, the hotel part of it offers a rooftop terrace swimming pool, sauna and a Jacuzzi.  There are also a number of health and beauty services on offer and a resident masseuse. Internet connections are available, and  there is a laundry service and baby-sitting and child minding services if you want to go out at night or take advantage of the complex night club – if not, there are plenty bars and night clubs in St. Julian’s and nearby Paceville.

A business centre and meeting room are available for business meetings, seminars, presentations and so on.  Wheelchair access is excellent as are facilities for the disabled.  The games room is popular with the youngsters, and in general the facilities provided by the complex as a whole are first class and more akin to what you would expect of a 5-star rather than a 4-star hotel.

The main restaurant is the All Seasons Restaurant, offering buffet options with a largely Mediterranean style cuisine, and also an a la carte menu that is more international in nature. The Baystreet Hotel is an excellent choice for a holiday in Malta because of its ideal situation close to the major entertainment centres of Malta, and also the fact that it is part of a larger entertainment complex that is also close to the beach.

The hotel is sited in a quiet area of St. Julian’s, with a great view over the tranquil Balluta Bay between Sliema and St. Julian’s and the swimming pool area of the hotel actually lies just above the waters of the Mediterranean Sea.  Close to some great shopping with lots of stores and boutiques, high-class restaurants and fabulous bars and night clubs, the Hotel Cavalieri is perfect for a great holiday in Malta irrespective of your age – young or old.

The rooms are furnished to a very high standard, each having queen size beds. Every room has air conditioning, satellite TV and radio, direct-dial international telephones, hair dryer, trouser press, minibar, high speed internet access, and a safe. Rooms with private terraces and Tower rooms also have DVD/CD players and a 32″ TV.  Bay view rooms are south-facing, overlooking Balluta Bay, while the Marina rooms overlook the Dragonara Casino, the yacht marina and the Mediterranean. All bathrooms are provided with a bath and hand-held shower, and most have a bidet.

The hotel offers an outdoor swimming pool and sundeck, and a paddling pool for the children. The self-service launderette is useful, particularly if you have young children and the hotel also provides a TV/meeting room.

The restaurant overlooks St. Julian’s Bay, and serves buffet breakfasts, lunches and dinners, largely with a Mediterranean and continental flavour, but also offering a few more international dishes. During the summer dining can be al fresco on the sundeck, where you will also find that barbeques are often organized.  The bar is host to live entertainment most nights of the week.

The Hotel Cavalieri is an excellent choice if you want a holiday with lots of fun and excitement, and to taste good delicious Mediterranean cuisine. The rooms are very comfortable and this four-star hotel is suitable for both couples and families seeking a great vacation in Malta.

The Hotel Juliani offers 44 rooms, and is Member of Small Elegant Hotels. Small but beautiful, as they say, this hotel offers free internet access in all rooms and also DVD players to go with the satellite TV.  Also with air conditioning, a laundry line and bathrobe and slippers, the hotel does an excellent job in looking after your comfort.

Each room is also equipped with international direct dial telephone, a hair dryer, coffee and tea making facilities, a minibar, safe and free Wi-Fi high-speed broadband internet access.   Furnishings are luxurious, as would be expected of a boutique hotel and the entire experience is one of comfort, spaciousness and exclusivity. The Junior Suites are also equipped with a Jacuzzi in the bathroom, a terrace overlooking the bay and a lounge area, and the Ambassador Suites are the same but with 2 TVs including a 32″ TV rather than the standard 25″.

The Hotel Juliani has an outdoor swimming pool and sun deck with fabulous views over Spinola Bay, and hotel guests have use of a health spa and gym about 5 minutes from the hotel. There is also a large meeting room that can be separated into two syndicate rooms, or used as a banqueting room for up to 300 people. There is free indoor parking for guests.

Zest is a lovely restaurant offering a fabulous selection of delicious foods from the Mediterranean and the orient. Examples are delicious continental pan fried lamb and Japanese Teppanyaki. Add to that Thai curries and seafood Laksas from Singapore, and you will wonder if it is really necessary to leave this hotel to eat.  It adjoins an open-air terrace bar that is ideal for pre-dinner aperitifs.

For something less formal, the Café Juliani is open all day for lighter meals and snacks, including home-made pastries, salads and grills, so you have a good choice of food for a small hotel.

The Hotel Juliani is a gem of a hotel, and ideal if you prefer a small boutique-style hotel to a large busy hotel. It is quiet, extremely relaxing and offers some of the most delicious food you will find on the island.  It is also centrally located for the best entertainment and night life you will find on the island. Definitely worth its 4-star rating, and more!

Although there is an unbelievably wide range of bars and restaurants of just about every kind in Paceville, the amenities provided by the hotel match them and you can choose to either ‘eat out’ or ‘eat in’. You would not lose out either way. This is also an excellent choice for business meetings being only 15 minutes drive from Valletta and 10 from Sliema.

The main dining room is Antonio’s, named after Antonio Vivaldi.  It offers buffet and a la carte choices, with largely Mediterranean cuisine but also a good international selection. The buffets change daily. The hotel also offers a lobby lounge known as the Rhapsody Lounge and Café and offers a selection of salads, wraps and sandwiches in a secluded area of the lobby which is enhanced some evenings with live piano music – expect some Vivaldi!  A range of international drinks is also served here and it is a good place to relax.  You can also get a selection of pasta, pizzas and grills on the Rooftop Promenade.

The Golden Tulip Vivaldi Hotel is perfect whether you are on business or on holiday, and is perfectly located for anywhere on the island. A high class 4-star hotel worth more than its grading!

Also nearby is the bus terminal with public transport to the capital, Valletta, and the nearby entertainment centre of Paceville and St. Julian’s.  By car, Valletta is a 10 minute drive. You are also within short walking distance of the Dragonara Casino, an IMAX Theatre and a Super Bowl, so you will not be short of things to do.

The Penny farthing Restaurant is a buffet and carvery, offering a wide range of delicious Mediterranean and international options for dinner, and also a hot and continental buffet breakfast.  You can get hot and cold meals and snacks in the Lobby Bar along with a range of beverages, wines and spirits, while The Pub is the main bar for the evening.

Overall, the Diplomat Hotel is an excellent 4-star hotel on the Sliema front, and is perfectly placed for a fabulous vacation.  The rooms are extremely comfortable and well appointed and the food is excellent with many different types of restaurants in the immediate area. On the whole, the Diplomat is an excellent choice for a vacation or for business use.

You are just a short walk from the main seafront promenade and a very short drive or bus ride from the island’s capital, the fortified town of Valletta, and also from the nightlife of St. Julian’s and Paceville.  Very conveniently, the hotel is situated beside a leading private hospital in Malta, the St. James Hospital, so your peace is guaranteed! Not only that, but the hotel is perfect for health-related visits, tourism or business meetings.

Copperfield’s restaurant also offers a full English buffet breakfast enhanced with continental options.

The Lobby Lounge is ideal for afternoon teas, and popular with the business crowd because it is one of the internet hotspots. Add to that the Penny Black lounge bar, offering tempting snacks and platters along with a full selection of drinks, and you have a highly modern hotel in a traditional setting to meet all tastes.

The Tentazione Pugliese is a traditional Italian restaurant, providing delicious Italian cuisine from its a la carte menu, particularly dishes from the Puglia region.  The Sakura Japanese Cuisine and Café offers a range of snacks and baguettes during the day, and also Japanese fusion food for lunch and dinner.

The Preluna Hotel and Spa offers a very comprehensive service, and is a magnificent 4-star hotel with a very high reputation. This is where to go if you want be based central to Malta’s hot-spots.

Between the Hotel and the resort, you have a choice of five top-class restaurants offering a very wide selection of food that is certain to meet everybody’s tastes. The Sa Re Ga Ma Indian restaurant and the Can Thai restaurant provide absolutely superb ethnic food that is practically unbeatable anywhere in Malta, while the Giardino Pizzeria offers a selection of delicious pizzas, grills and pastas.  The Le Valletta buffet restaurant offers a sumptuous buffet of fabulous Mediterranean foods and the Tigne Brasserie is a typical brasserie offering a wide selection of snacks and meals.

The Cocktail bar is indoors but offers great views across the bay to Valletta and provides entertainment and dancing between November and April. The Lido Bar is outside, and holds the entertainment during the rest of the year in the summer.
